[edit]From ọ̀- + kẹ́rẹ́gbà. Many forms of the word exist in various subdialects of Ekiti, where /r/ and /l/ interchange and where ɛ becomes ɪ. Some dialects also drop the preceding vowels. See forms ọ̀kírígbà, kílígbà, ọ̀kílígbà.

Usage notes
[edit]- The term for dog differs across individual Ekiti towns, where many will use the form ọ̀kẹ́rẹ́gbà in addition to olókílì, or the form òkílì, while many only use the forms associated with ọ̀kẹ́rẹ́gbà, or such as kílígbà. Speakers of the Àkúrẹ́ subdialect only use by kílígbà and olókílì, in addition to the general ajá.
