[edit]Inherited from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (fryyh, fryh /frēh/, “more”) in its compound form [Book Pahlavi needed] (frh, fryh /frah, freh/, “more”), attested also in derivatives 𐫛𐫡𐫆𐫏𐫅 (prẖyd /frahīd/), 𐫜𐫡𐫆𐫏𐫅 (frẖyd /frahīd/, “many”) and [Book Pahlavi needed] (prhyst(') /frahist/, “most”), itself comparative of Old Persian 𐎱𐎽𐎺 (paruv, “much, many, too much, very”), from Proto-Iranian *pr̥Húš, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *pr̥Húš.
