[edit]دم (dum, “tail”) + سنجـ (sanj-, “to sway, to swing, to weigh”), or with Sogdian 𐼼𐼷𐼿𐼰𐼸𐼳 (sycʾkh), 𐼼𐼷𐼿𐼰𐼸𐼸 (sycʾkk, “sparrow”), also contaminated into سیچغنه (sīčağna, sīčuğna, “sparrow-hawk”).[1]
