Any dolphin of the genus Lagenorhynchus which have conspicuous white markings on the sides of the body: especially Lagenorhynchus acutus in the North Atlantic (the Atlantic white-sided dolphin), and Lagenorhynchus obliquidens in the North Pacific (the Pacific white-sided dolphin).
