[edit]Borrowed from Spanish himno, but with the silent ⟨h⟩ pronounced as /h/ due to English influence (compare alkohol, hedonismo, Hispanismo, Hinduismo, homiliya, nihilismo, rehabilitasyon) or by pronouncing the Spanish unadapted borrowing with Tagalog orthography rules. Attested since the 1980's.
