"Obsolete spelling of harbour"

Etymologically implausible. All I seem to find are references to w:Market Harborough. Chuck Entz (talk) 03:01, 25 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

That pretty much sums it up. - -sche (discuss) 08:29, 25 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Note that this comes from Webster 1913, which also has the spelling harbrough. I have no idea whether the word is valid. Equinox 01:51, 12 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Found some evidence

[edit]

Perhaps the entry should be recreated. In Google Books, I just found "having upon sea borde greate sandes, which do make the harborough good", and "many ilands good harboroughs for ships which they dicovered as they passed". I'll leave it someone else if they want to. Equinox 11:00, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

It's in the OED too, plus another form, harborow. Equinox 11:01, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Impressive, this is another example of how many books Google keeps on digitizing, that this is citable now. Thanks for checking back on it. - -sche (discuss) 23:01, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
