Earth
[edit]"The study of the physical structure and inhabitants of the Earth." Just Earth? I thought it was ANY planet--12.31.160.200 14:44, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- (deprecated template usage) geo- means Earth. For other planets it's usually (but not always?) called something else. See [1], and astrogeology. (We are missing astrogeography.) Equinox ◑ 13:44, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Pronunciation
[edit]In England, I've noticed a lot of people say /ˈdʒɒgrəfi/ instead of standard /dʒiˈɒgrəfi/. Should this pronunciation be noted? 90.215.206.253 13:34, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I'll add it. I'm not a native speaker of English, but w:Stephen Fry says it like that, and he's a bit schoolmasterly when it comes to language (or anything, really), so it must be an acceptable pronunciation rather than a rare mistake. Kolmiel (talk) 19:02, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
