Demoscene sense

[edit]

I'm way too lazy to cite this, but in the demoscene the ^ is conventionally used to separate the name of a scener and the group that they belong to. So, if your name is LordBastard and you produce work for Kilodrugs Inc, you might write your name as LordBastard^Kilodrugs, or LordBastard^KD. Perhaps an obscure subculture but this "notation" goes back pretty far. I think I saw it in the mid '90s. Equinox 03:31, 13 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

sarcastrophe?

[edit]

Can this symbol also be used in the mannner of quotation marks, as a sarcastrophe, to surround purposefully ironic/sarcastic phrases or sentences? link 173.88.246.138 20:48, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
