[edit]Named after its originator Friedrich Krupp, from Essen, Germany.
Proper noun
[edit]- A process for washing pig iron, differing from the Bell process in using manganese as well as iron oxide, and performed in a Pernot furnace.
- A process for the manufacture of steel armor plates, involving the addition of chromium and nickel to the metal, and a treatment resembling the Harvey process but using a carbon-rich gas rather than solid fuel.
