Here are suffixes that have been used recently to form new words. Note that some words apparently ending in a suffix were actually formed in other languages and borrowed from that language. This is especially true of words of Latin derivation, which may have entered English (Old, Middle or Modern) directly from Ecclestiastical Latin, via Old French or Middle French, or by other paths.
