Etymology
[edit]Unknown. Possibly from Proto-Indo-Iranian [Term?]. Perhaps related to Avestan 𐬎𐬭𐬬𐬀𐬥- (urvan-, “soul; immortal part of a human being or an animal”) and Persian روان (ravân, “soul”). Not related to वर्पस् (várpas).[1]
