Hence "circa 1945" is inexact and '''Late 1945''', seems pretty definite, since the Chinese character term comes in from Japan. Before this time, if one were to use "Kaohsiung" or similar it would be odd because you would not affirm China's sovereignty claims but then use Mandarin to romanize. undo
