Etymology
[edit]From Old Swedish væva, from Old Norse vefa, from Proto-Germanic *webaną, from Proto-Indo-European *webʰ- (“to weave”). Compare Norwegian veve, Danish væve, Faroese veva, Icelandic vefa.
