[edit]What is this about? I'm missing the connection of the category to this image. - Jmabel ! talk 21:58, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- I was given to believe that the Seattle Matt Talbot Center and New Hope Center were involved in empowering recovering alcoholics. Forgive me if I was misinformed. I am currently bulking up the Wikipedia entry on Matt Talbot, can you please tell me is the Seattle Matt Talbot Center still in operation? If so, I would like to add the photo to the revamped wikip article as part of the man's legacy. --Cograng (talk) 22:17, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- Here is current information on the Matt Talbot Center; it's been in the Belltown location for several years now.
- Drug Abuse Resistance Education is a specific program in some U.S. schools. (Not a very effective one, I might add. See Drug Abuse Resistance Education.) As far as I know, it has nothing to do with Matt Talbot, or this building, and certainly not with this specific photograph of this building. I'll revert. - Jmabel ! talk 05:02, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Jmabel. Thanks for getting back to me. Thank you for the info on the Drug Abuse Resistance Education programme. Still learning here.
Thanks for the information on the Matt Talbot Center (MTC) in Seattle’s Belltown neighbourhood. I’ll be sure to include that in the changed page. --Cograng (talk) 11:46, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
Bad categories
[edit]Hi Cograng, please do not add wrong categories en masse as you did here or there. This is disrupting. Please have a look at Commons:Categories and please make yourself familiar with the subjects you are going to categorize and read the file descriptions carefully. Thanks & kind regards, AFBorchert (talk) 07:18, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hello AFBorchert. Thank you for your advice. Duly noted. While I have your attention, I think that the entry for St. Brendan is worthy of being added to the WikiProject Saints. I don't have any particular knowledge on the subject but there are Wikipedians who do. As I added an image I noticed that a lot of the information in the sections Veneration, Patronage, and Establishments is repetitive, and those sections could do with more material. Thanks again. Bye.

- Hi Cograng, as you can see below, I have filed your picture of the statuette for deletion. As explained on COM:DW, you cannot simply photograph some piece of art and upload it as this infringes the copyright of the artist. The piece of art must be either already in the public domain, or there must be an exception (like freedom of panorama that does not apply here), or you need a written permission of the artist. And then you should keep in mind that in the corresponding Wikipedia article, Brendan, we should focus on notable art, not some mass-produced random piece. The article about St. Brendan belongs already to WikiProject Saints since 2006. The article is indeed not in a great shape. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 06:10, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Copyright status: File:Election poster for Paweł Skutecki.jpg
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Election poster for Paweł Skutecki.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |
