Summary
[edit]DescriptionRochester Blue Cross Arena - NW Exterior.jpg |
English: The Blue Cross Arena at the Community War Memorial in Rochester, New York. This is a multipurpose arena, built between 1951 and 1955 on a corner where the Genesee River and the Erie Canal once met. Originally named the Community War Memorial, the arena was renovated to its current appearance between 1996 and 1998, when it gained its current name. The arena is home to the Rochester Americans hockey team, Rochester Knighthawks lacrosse team, and the Rochester Razorsharks basketball team. It also hosts other events including circuses, and concerts.
New York State Route 31 runs west to east (front right to middle left) along West Broad Street in the foreground. The Broad Street Bridge, the former Erie Canal aqueduct, is just beyond the left side of the picture. New York State Route 383 begins at this intersection and heads south (back right) along Exchange Boulevard. |
