English: Lomen Stave Church (Lomen stavkyrkje/stavkrike) in Vestre Slidre Municipality in County of Oppland, Norway. The snow fell on dry ground the same day. Distorted panorama photo March 30th, 2017. Through dendrochronological dating this small church in the traditional region of Valdres has been dated to 1192, but the first reference in written sources is not until 1325 and 1334, at that time as "Hvams kirke". The church was rebuilt and enlarged in 1749. |
