The factual accuracy of this map or the file name is disputed.
Reason: Borders and region placement seem wildly inaccurate, and as such it is difficult to glean any kind of useful information from the map. The eastern HRE border seems to encompass Greater Poland and western parts of Hungary but not all of Pomerania. The western border encompasses the Duchy of Burgundy (at this time part of France and never AFAIK part of the HRE) and parts of Champagne and Flanders (also in France) but excludes Lyon and Vivarais (in the 13th century both still part of the Empire). Judging by the shape the coloured area around the Brabant label appears to represent the HRE territory in the Low Countries, including Brabant, Aalst, Hainaut, Cambrai and Chiny; however, it is much too large and extends well beyond the actual border, covering most of Picardy and large parts of Flanders and Champagne. The Saxonia superioară (Upper Saxony) label appears to be in northern Silesia and parts of Brandenburg. Praga (Prague) lies around the Bohemia-Moravia border, roughly where Jihlava actually is. Moravia is labelled in northern Austria and Boemia (Bohemia) in southern Moravia. The Franconia label is in the northern part of the Upper Rhine, roughly in the Palatinate region. (Stem West Franconia did cover this area but was long since defunct by this point; East Franconia, which is what we call Franconia today and which still existed in the 13th century is far to the east.) Lorena (Lorraine) is labelled around Luxembourg. Lombardia (Lombardy) is labelled around the March of Verona and Brescia. The Stiria (Styria) label appears on the Styrian-Hungarian border. |

This map image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “HeimSachsen.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
