Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Petersaurach besteht seit 1978 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Petersaurach, Großhaslach und Vestenberg. Aus dem untergegangenen Wappen von Petersaurach stammt der goldene Schlüssel als Attribut des heiligen Petrus, der redend für den Ortsnamen steht. Die Eisenhüte sind dem untergegangenen Wappen von Großhaslach entnommen. Sie weisen auf die Grafen von Oettingen. Im Jahr 1144 schenkten sie dem Kloster Heilsbronn das Patronat der Großhaslacher Pfarrei, 1299 verkauften sie ihre Güter mitsamt der Burg ebenfalls an das Kloster. Der silberne Balken in grünem Feld ist das Wappenbild der Herren von Vestenberg, die für alle drei Orte von großer Bedeutung waren.
