Description
Deutsch: Darstellung des Dämons Asmodäus (auch: Asmodi) nach einer Fantasie von Louis Le Breton. Asmodäus ist bereits aus altpersisch-parsischen Schriften als Aeshma Daeva, als Dämon der Raserei, der Begierde und des Zornes, bekannt. In der jüdischen Überlieferung gilt er als Verderber und im mittelalterlichen Hexenhammer als Bringer des Gerichts (mit Bezug auf Sodom und Gomorrha).
