English: Originally thought to be the orange variety of Amphissa versicolor. However, A. vericolor does not occur as far north as Vancover, where this snail was photograped. Also the ribbing in the shell is pretty much vertical, and the suture is not very pinched in, so this is Amphissa columbiana instead, a more northerly species which can also be orange in shell color. |
