Deutsch: Relieftafel zur Erinnerung an Richeza von Lothringen. Sie gilt als Gründerin der Kirche in Neunhofen Mitte des 11. Jahrhunderts. |
| Inscription | Texttafel daneben: Richeza (um 995 - 1063) war mütterlicherseits eine Enkelin des deutschen Kaisers Otto II. und entstammte väterlicherseits dem lothringisch-rheinischen Geschlecht der Ezzonen. Als Gattin Mieszcko II. wurde sie 1025 zur Königin von Polen gekrönt. Nach dem Tod ihres Gemahls kehrte sie in ihre Heimat an Rhein und Mosel zurück und verfügte seit 1047 über das reiche ezzonische Erbe, welches unter anderem die Provinz Saalfeld und das Land Orla umfasste. Diese Gebiete waren 1013 durch eine Schenkung des Sachsenkönigs Heinrich II. in den Besitz ihres Vaters gekommen. Richeza ließ sich in Saalfeld nieder und blieb dort bis zu ihrem Tod. Sie gilt als Gründerin der Kirche Neunhofen. Bereits 1056 (beurkundet 1057) übereignete sie ihren gesamten Besitz an Saale und Orla dem Erzstift Köln. Erzbischof Anno II. von Köln gliederte 1071 die Kirche und Parochie Neunhofen den im gleichen Jahr von ihm gegründeten Benediktinerkloster Saalfeld an. |
