The satellite imagery is not free.

I am objecting against deletion of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mapathoner_L-shaped_warning.png I am deeply sorry for missing attribution to Open Imagery Network, but I have fixed it now.
The problem has been raised originally when discussing the license of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mapathoner_demo.gif, see "aerial imagery" section at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Qeef Since then, I have changed the imagery to Open Imagery Network and attributed Open Imagery Network at https://mapathoner.tojemoje.site/
I didn't realize I must attribute Open Imagery Network in commons, too. I don't understand how could I missed that. I am very sorry about that. I also fixed missing attribution at the second page of mapathoner's documentation https://mapathoner.tojemoje.site/usage/ (not sure if attribution was enough at the intro page only, so I added the attribution there, too.) You're good. It happens. But I should like to point out that this image is of very low quality and has never been used. It may not be within the scope of the project, see COM:PS. 0x0a (talk) 10:48, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see, you're right. I guess my original idea was not to include those images in the repository but use them for the (mapathoner's) documentation on wiki. However, the documentation is not on the wiki (but rather generated from the repository where the images are included at the end). So... there is indeed no use for both images (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mapathoner_L-shaped_warning.png and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mapathoner_demo.gif). Therefore, it is probably a good idea to request the deletion of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mapathoner_demo.gif, too. Thank you. Qeef (talk) 08:21, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't do that, for this GIF may be helpful to demonstrate the mapping skill. In fact, most of the sample images shown on OSM are hosted on Commons. 0x0a (talk) 09:46, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
