The Zeenat-ul Masjid is located on the north-eastern side of the Red Fort's palace constructed by Shah Jahan (r. 1627-1658) for his new city Shahjahanabad. Zeenat-ul Masjid was built by a en:Zeenat-un-Nissa, daughter of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb (r.1658-1707) in 1707.
