The Ogdoad of Hermopolis consisted of eight gods (four pairs), each pair representing the male and female parts of the different aspects of chaos out of which the cosmos was created.
Nun and Naunet (represent primeval water), Heh and Hehet (infinity), Kuk and Kuket (darkness), and Amun and Amunet (hiddenness).
