English: "Minicomputer" is a term for a class of smaller general purpose computers that developed in the mid-1960s and sold for much less than mainframe.

PDP-7 minicomputer (1964) from Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), a typical minicomputer of the time. Conventional computers (mainframes) were significantly larger and filled entire rooms.
