English: In Greek mythology, Lamia was a beautiful queen of Libya who was later cursed, transforming her into a child-eating daemon. Zeus gave her the ability to remove her eyes and have the gift of prophecy. She is usually described as having the upper body of a woman and lower half of a serpent.
