The Knox County Courthouse, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, was built in 1885, and served as the county's courthouse until 1979. It currently houses municipal offices, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. John Sevier, the first governor of Tennessee, is buried on the courthouse lawn.
