English: John George Howard was Toronto's official surveyor and civil engineer. He was also the first professional architect in Toronto, the designer of numerous public, commercial and residential buildings in Toronto in the 1800s. He donated High Park to the people of Toronto, and resided in Colborne Lodge until his death.
