Abstract

Digital entrepreneurs increasingly leverage crowdfunding platforms to bring innovative projects to life. Despite the growing body of research on digital entrepreneurship and sustainability in crowdfunding, findings remain inconclusive regarding the impact of sustainability orientation on funding outcomes. By drawing on signaling theory, we intend to investigate this impact. Our research is expected to explain the reasons behind the inconclusive findings in the existing literature and offer insights particularly for digital entrepreneurs with a sustainability orientation and for crowdfunding platforms.
