2024:Speaker resources

From Wikimedia United Arab Emirates

We are delighted to welcome you as a participant in the esteemed WikiArabia conference. To ensure a productive and enriching experience for all, we have prepared the following guidelines for your reference as you prepare for your session.

General Speakers' Guidelines

  • Adherence to Islamic values and general etiquette, as well as the rules and regulations of the Sultanate of Oman. Speakers are expected to uphold the Islamic values and adhere to the general etiquette and norms of the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Avoidance of political, security, religious, sectarian, or tribal discussions that may incite discord within the community, disrupt public order, or embarrass the Sultanate in its relations with friendly or sisterly countries, or with regional or international organizations or institutions.
  • Modesty and adherence to the dress code: All speakers and attendees are expected to dress modestly and adhere to the appropriate dress code.
  • Punctuality: Speakers are required to arrive at their designated session location 15 minutes prior to the start time to allow volunteers to make the necessary arrangements and set up their presentations.
  • Time management: Speakers must adhere to the allotted time for their sessions to avoid disrupting the conference program and out of respect for other speakers. If a speaker is running behind schedule, a volunteer will be present in the room to remind them of the remaining time.
  • Speakers should allocate sufficient time for audience questions: to avoid delays and extending the session time.
  • Completion of the presentation form: Speakers must complete the presentation data form as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in difficulties in obtaining the necessary materials for their presentations.
  • Submission of presentations: All speakers must submit their presentations at least two days before the conference.
