攻城戰

攻城戰是指對城堡、城市或要塞進攻的戰爭模式。依照戰局模式另可分作巷戰和包圍戰，目的可以是奪取建築、資源、戰略要地或是殲滅敵人。通常攻城戰是不得已的情況下才要進行的戰爭模式，因為往往需要付出巨大的代價才能達成目標。在中古時期，城堡是攻城戰進攻方的主要對手，往往進攻方需要大量的攻城武器（如投石機、衝車及弩炮等）和大量傷亡，才能進入城門，進行巷戰。直到火藥與火砲的發明，攻取城堡已容易許多，其防禦角色漸漸被要塞所取代。
