Circle Pad toward your target while
L Button Targeting, then press B Button.

cut horizontally. If you hold L Button as
you swing, you'll cut vertically.

Selecting a Target
If you see Green Mark above an object,
you can target it with L Button.

In other words, if you press and hold L Button
when you see Green Mark above an object, you
can lock on to it.

If you release L Button, the lock will be released.
If there are other objects with Green Mark above
them, you can press L Button rapidly to cycle
between targets.

You can target the stones next to this
sign for practice!

Hole of "L"
Let's go through this small hole!

Stand in front of the hole and push Circle Pad
toward it. When the Action Icon shows
"Enter," press A Button to crawl into the hole.

Pay attention to what the Action Icon says!

Viewpoint with L Button Targeting
When you have no object to look at,
you can just look forward with L Button.

Stop moving and then change the direction
you are facing, or hold down L Button for a little
while.

This can help you get oriented in the
direction you want to face. It's quite
convenient!

If you hold down L Button, you can walk
sideways
while facing straight ahead.

Walking sideways can be a very important
technique in dungeon corridors. Turn around
and try doing this right now.

Visit the House of the Know-It-All Brothers
to get answers to all your item-related
questions!

In the Forest Training Center, Link finds the Kokiri Sword as a child. It is located near the house of the Know-It-All Brothers, and it contains several Stones and patches of Grass that Link can use for practicing using the Sword and Targeting.

Within the Forest Training Center is a small hole called the Hole of "L",[2] which leads to a small maze housing a continuously rolling Boulder and a Treasure Chest containing the Kokiri Sword. If Link comes into contact with the Boulder, he will take damage. Two Blue Rupees can be found in nooks inside the maze, and two Green Rupees can be obtained by walking through the tall clover patch.

The Kokiri Sword from the Forest Training Center is required for Link to be able to go Inside the Deku Tree, the first Dungeon.
