     Francis Courtenay was born circa 1576.1 He was the son of Sir William Courtenay and Lady Elizabeth Manners.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Seymour, daughter of Sir Edward Seymour, 2nd Bt. and Dorothy Killigrew.1 He married, firstly, Mary Pole, daughter of Sir William Pole and Mary Periam, on 7 November 1606.1 He died on 3 June 1638.1 He was buried on 5 June 1638 at Powderham, Devon, EnglandG.
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1625.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Grampound in 1626.1 He succeeded as the 4th of Devon [E., 1553] on 24 June 1630, de jure.1

     Mary Pole was christened on 26 June 1586 at Shute, Devon, EnglandG. She was the daughter of Sir William Pole and Mary Periam.1,2 She married, firstly, Nicholas Hurst before 1606.1 She married, secondly, Francis Courtenay, son of Sir William Courtenay and Lady Elizabeth Manners, on 7 November 1606.1 She died, without issue.1
     From before 1606, her married name became Hurst.1 Her married name became Courtenay.

Sir Thomas de Multon, 1st Lord Multon1

     Sir Thomas de Multon, 1st Lord Multon was born on 21 February 1276.2 He was the son of Thomas de Multon.2 He married Eleanor de Burgh, daughter of Richard de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster, on 3 January 1297 at St. Peter's Priory, Ipswich, Suffolk, EnglandG.3 He died before 8 February 1321/22.2
     He was created 1st Lord Multon [England by writ] on 6 February 1298/99.1

Sir William Pole

     Sir William Pole was baptised on 27 August 1561.1 He was the son of William Pole and Katherine Popham.2 He married, firstly, Mary Periam, daughter of Sir William Periam, on 30 July 1583.2 He married, secondly, Jane Symes, daughter of William Symes.2 He died on 9 February 1635 at age 73.2
     He was an antiquarian.2 They had five other sons and four other daughters.2 He lived at Colcomb, Devon, England.2

     Mary Periam was the daughter of Sir William Periam. She married Sir William Pole, son of William Pole and Katherine Popham, on 30 July 1583.1 She died circa 5 May 1606.1 She was buried on 8 May 1606.1
     From 30 July 1583, her married name became Pole.1 They had five other sons and four other daughters.1

     Sir Edward Seymour, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Edward Seymour, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Champernowne.2 He married Dorothy Killigrew, daughter of Sir Henry Killigrew and Catherine Cooke, on 15 December 1600.2 He died on 5 October 1659.
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Penrhyn in 1601.2 He was appointed Knight in 1603.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newport between 1603 and 1611.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Seymour, of Berry Pomeroy [E., 1611] on 11 April 1613.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lyme Regis in 1614.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon from 1621 to 1622.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Callington from 1624 to 1625.2 His castle at Berry Pomeroy was destroyed in the Civil War.2

Dorothy Killigrew1

     Dorothy Killigrew was the daughter of Sir Henry Killigrew and Catherine Cooke.2 She married Sir Edward Seymour, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Edward Seymour, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Champernowne, on 15 December 1600.1 She died circa 27 June 1643.1 She was buried on 30 June 1643.1
     Her married name became Seymour.
