     Mary Gwendolen Hampton-Lewis was born on 1 April 1875.2 She was the daughter of Colonel Thomas Lewis Hampton-Lewis.1 She married Lt.-Col. Bertie Cunynghame Dwyer-Hampton, son of Captain Robert Hoare Dwyer and Caroline Georgina Thurlow Cunynghame, in 1914.1
     From 1915, her married name became Dwyer-Hampton.1
