     Thomas Savile was the son of John Savile and Alice Gascoigne. He married Margaret Basforth on 21 August 1482.1 He died in 1505, with other issue, including two younger sons (Thomas, of Stanley.1

     Henry Savile was the son of Thomas Savile and Margaret Basforth. He married, thirdly, Dorothy Grosvenor, daughter of Richard Grosvenor and Catherine Cotton. He married, secondly, Jane Vernon, daughter of William Vernon. He married, firstly, Margaret Fuller in 1545.1 He died from January 1568/69 to May 1589.1
     He was memb Cncl of the –68, Sheriff Yorkshire 1568–69 North 1556.1 Known as ‘the Surveyor' for his surveying crown lands N of the River Trent.1 He acquired Barroughby through his second wife.1 He lived Barroughby.1 Nr Grantham.1 And Lupset.1

     Sir George Savile, 1st Bt. was born circa 1550.1 He was the son of Henry Savile and Jane Vernon. He married Lady Mary Talbot, daughter of George Talbot, 6th Earl of Shrewsbury and Lady Gertrude Manners.1 He married Elizabeth Ayscough, daughter of Sir Edward Ayscough.1 He died on 12 November 1622.1
     He lived Lupset.1 Thornhill and Wakefield.1 He was educated at St. John's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Boroughbridge from 1586 to 1587.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yorkshire in 1593.1 He was created 1st Baronet Savile, of Thornhill, co. York [England] on 29 June 1611.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1614.
