     He was with the Bengal Civil Service.1 He succeeded as the 15th Baronet Hope, of Craighall [N.S., 1628] on 5 September 1898.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Midlothian.1

Mary Bruce.3 He married Ruth Chamberlin Davis, daughter of Carl Raymond Davis, on 20 April 1938.1 He died on 27 July 1987 at age 75 at Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.1,2
