Maria Christina Dalyell1

     Maria Christina Dalyell was the daughter of Captain Sir William Cunningham Dalyell of the Binns, 7th Bt. and Maria Sampayo.2 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir Charles Taylor Du Plat in 1855.1 She died on 7 April 1867, without issue.1
     From 1855, her married name became Du Plat.1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Charles Taylor Du Plat married Maria Christina Dalyell, daughter of Captain Sir William Cunningham Dalyell of the Binns, 7th Bt. and Maria Sampayo, in 1855.1 He died on 2 November 1900.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1

Elizabeth Grace Dalyell1

     Elizabeth Grace Dalyell was the daughter of Captain Sir William Cunningham Dalyell of the Binns, 7th Bt. and Maria Sampayo.2 She married Gustavus Charles Cornwall-Dalyell of the Binns on 11 April 1861.1 She died in 1913, without issue.1

Gustavus Charles Cornwall-Dalyell of the Binns1

     Gustavus Charles Cornwall-Dalyell of the Binns married Elizabeth Grace Dalyell, daughter of Captain Sir William Cunningham Dalyell of the Binns, 7th Bt. and Maria Sampayo, on 11 April 1861.1 He died on 22 July 1903.1
     He was given the name of Gustavus Charles Cornwall at birth.1 In 1886 his name was legally changed to Gustavus Charles Cornwall-Dalyell of the Binns after his wife inherited the Binns.1

     John Wilkie was born in 1806.1 He was the son of James Wilkie and Harriet Dalyell.2 He married Henriette Eleanor Bruce, daughter of Thomas Bruce of Arnot and Henrietta Dorin, on 27 April 1865 at Kennoway, Fife, Scotland.1,3 He died on 21 June 1884.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Berwickshire.1 He lived at Foulden, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1

     Thomas Bruce of Arnot was born on 29 August 1808 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He is the son of Thomas Bruce of Arnot and Clementina Dundas.2 He married Henrietta Dorin, daughter of Alexander Dorin and Charlotte Taylor, on 2 December 1828 at Calcutta, India.2 He died after 1878.2
     He lived at Arnot, Kinross-shire, ScotlandG.1

     Henriette Eleanor Bruce was born on 15 August 1832 at Calcutta, India.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Bruce of Arnot and Henrietta Dorin.3,2 She married John Wilkie, son of James Wilkie and Harriet Dalyell, on 27 April 1865 at Kennoway, Fife, Scotland.1,4 She died in May 1872 at age 39.1
     From 27 April 1865, her married name became Wilkie.1

Sir James Bruce Wilkie-Dalyell of the Binns, 9th Bt.1

     Sir James Bruce Wilkie-Dalyell of the Binns, 9th Bt. was born on 1 May 1867.1 He was the son of John Wilkie and Henriette Eleanor Bruce.2 He married Mary Marjoribanks Askew-Robertson, daughter of Watson Askew-Robertson of Pallinsburn and Ladykirk and Hon. Sarah Robertson, on 6 February 1894.1 He died on 12 December 1935 at age 68, without male issue.1
     He was also known as James Bruce Wilkie.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He was admitted to Royal Company Archers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Berwickshire.1 In 1913 he inherited the Binns from his cousin Mrs Gustavus Cornwall-Dalyell of the Binns.1 In 1913 his name was legally changed to James Bruce Wilkie-Dalyell of the Binns.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Dalyell [N.S., 1685] on 1 July 1914, when his claim was allowed by the Privy Council.1 On his death, his baronetcy became dormant and the Binns estate passed to his daughter.1
