Augusta, Countess of Lonsdale

     Lady Augusta Fane was born on 18 September 1761.3 She was the daughter of John Fane, 9th Earl of Westmorland and Augusta Bertie.1,3 She married Lt.-Col. William Lowther, 1st Earl of Lonsdale, son of Rev. Sir William Lowther, 1st Bt. and Anne Zouch, on 12 July 1781.3 She died on 6 March 1838 at age 76.3
     Her married name became Lowther. After her marriage, Lady Augusta Fane was styled as Countess of Lonsdale on 24 May 1802.

John Fane, 9th Earl of Westmorland1

     John Fane, 9th Earl of Westmorland was born on 5 May 1728.1 He was the son of Thomas Fane, 8th Earl of Westmorland and Elizabeth Swymmer.1 He married, firstly, Augusta Bertie, daughter of Lord Montague Bertie, on 26 March 1758.2 He married, secondly, Lady Susan Gordon, daughter of Cosmo George Gordon, 3rd Duke of Gordon and Lady Catherine Gordon, on 28 May 1767.2 He died on 25 April 1774 at age 45.2
     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Commissioner of Taxes between 1760 and 1762.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Lyme Regis between 1762 and 1771.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1769.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Burghersh, co. Sussex [E., 1624] on 12 November 1771.2 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Westmorland [E., 1624] on 12 November 1771.2

     Colonel Hon. Henry Cecil Lowther was born on 27 July 1790.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Lowther, 1st Earl of Lonsdale and Lady Augusta Fane.1,2 He married Lady Lucy Eleanor Sherard, daughter of Philip Sherard, 5th Earl of Harborough and Eleanor Monckton, on 19 May 1817.1 He died on 6 December 1867 at age 77.3
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cumerland.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Cumberland Militia.2 He lived at Barley Thorpe, Rutland, EnglandG.2

     Lady Lucy Eleanor Sherard was the daughter of Philip Sherard, 5th Earl of Harborough and Eleanor Monckton.1 She married Colonel Hon. Henry Cecil Lowther, son of Lt.-Col. William Lowther, 1st Earl of Lonsdale and Lady Augusta Fane, on 19 May 1817.1 She died on 8 June 1848.1
     Her married name became Lowther.

     Arthur Charles Gore was born on 18 July 1880.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Charles Gore and Constance Mary Bruce.1 He married, firstly, Rosamond Edna Hiden, daughter of William Hiden, on 12 February 1913.1 He and Rosamond Edna Hiden were divorced in 1924.1 He married, secondly, Florence Sutherland, daughter of Edward Sutherland, on 7 June 1926.1 He and Florence Sutherland were divorced in 1928.1 He married, thirdly, Audrey Elizabeth Guelph Young, daughter of Maynard L. Young, on 10 February 1934.1 He died on 17 April 1963 at age 82, without issue.1
     He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Connaught Rangers.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.1

     Mary Ryland was the daughter of Richard Ryland and Mary Pembroke.2,1 She married Robert Grove, son of John Grove and Annabella Blennerhassett, in 1741.1 She died on 1 June 1758 at Cork, County Cork, IrelandG.2,1
     She was also known as Mary Rylands.3 From 1741, her married name became Grove.1

Harriet Stanhope1

     Harriet Stanhope was the daughter of Captain Hon. Henry FitzRoy Stanhope and Elizabeth Falconer.1 She married Charles FitzRoy, 3rd Baron Southampton, son of Lt.-Col. George Ferdinand FitzRoy, 2nd Baron Southampton and Frances Isabella Seymour, on 23 February 1826.1 She died on 23 October 1860 at Whittlebury LodgeG, without issue.1 She died on 23 October 1860, without issue.2
     After her marriage, Harriet Stanhope was styled as Baroness Southampton on 23 February 1826. From 23 February 1826, her married name became FitzRoy.
