English Name - Naval Architect / Naval Engineer
[edit]Can someone explain the use of the term naval engineer. This term in my mind is talking about an Engineering officer on a ship and the term navy is often misunderstood as referring to the military. The profession, trade bodies and education degrees all use the term Naval Architect which is the study of Naval Architecture. Which is common with a number of other design professions. - @Yachty4000: I've changed the label to "marine engineer", following the EU ESCO database which uses this name, with a definition very similar to the description here (ESCO 2144.1.10)
- The ESCO database identifies this as a different occupation from marine architect (Q110851319), which it has a different entry and coding for: (2144.1.14).
- Both it considers to be types of mechanical engineer (Q1906857) Jheald (talk) 13:26, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
