Periods continuity
[edit]Hi @Infovarius:. I see a potential problem with splitting of 1991- period into two: I don't know which way is simpler for clients to render periods list. I'll think about this. --AS (talk) 22:08, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
- Let's say China claim it's part of Russia since 2018. Will you split into 1991-2014, 2014-2018, 2018- now? --AS (talk) 22:12, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
- The problem is that we haven't qualifiers on qualifiers. So probably yes, we would split further. Alternative variant is to use different versions of full-time values: 1) "Ukraine from 1991" disputed by Russia; 2) "Ukraine 1991-2014" without qualifiers; 3) "Russia from 2014" disputed by Ukraine; 4(if necessary) "Russia from 2018" supported by China. Here we will add a new value for each new international claim. --Infovarius (talk) 00:17, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
- Still bad. Now we have claim "Ukraine, end time 2014" which semantically should have "disputed by Ukraine" qualifier. Which will also dispute "Ukraine, start time 2014" claim. I'll need to check data model to understand desired format. --AS (talk) 22:14, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
