Motivation
[edit]Notified participants of WikiProject Video games
Kanobu (Q4042056) is another major Russian-language video game news and reviews website with a large database. Website is also used as reliable source on ruwiki (see here). Considering also the fact that Kanobu and Igromania (Q4197757) will soon be merged into one company, I think this will be a good addition as both websites will continue to develop completely independently of each other ([1], [2]). - Comment Each game on Kanobu seems to have a numerical gameId in the HTML source. Far Cry 6 has 59701 for example. Not sure whether we can use this in any way. —Dexxor (talk) 05:13, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Dexxor: Yep, this is the numeric ID for this database. Good catch! Numeric identifier can be found by the string
"game":{"id":59701,"like_count":198,"slug":"far-cry-6"
using Ctrl+U on the game's page but unfortunately its cannot be used in our case, because it gives a 404 error. However, there is good news! This would be a good reason to create another separate property for the Numeric ID, as in the case of IGDB (see example). Property would be used as a qualifier to keep track of games in case Kanobu removes URL slugs in the future. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 23:41, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
