IPI name number
identifier for names of a composer, author and other relevant parties
DescriptionThe IPI Name Code (Interested Parties Information) is an international unique identifier for a name of a composer, author and other relevant parties. It is linked to the ISWC code for works, adopted as international standard ISO 15707 and linked to the IPI Base code for legal persons and entities. Each item in the registry has an ID which is accessible via this page and through other online resources. The authority, with associated member in more than 120 countries, provides a unique IPI code for each name or pseudonym of a person or legal entity. This code could be extremely useful during an Authority control process for composer and author of creative works.

Format

[edit]

According to Interested Parties Information the format should be: I-000000229-7 But the regex here is 11 digits. --Hannolans (talk) 23:36, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Did some research and edited the wikipedia page. This number here is the IPI-name number. The I-code is the IPI base number. The IPI base number is unique for every entity, the IPI name number is related to the different pseudonyms an entity may have. I will edit this property to make this distinction more clear, and will propose to add a property for an IPI base number . --Hannolans (talk) 07:53, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
IPI numbers can be between 9 to 11 characters, need to update constraints accordingly Wikiramiwiki (talk) 15:39, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Constraints

[edit]

There are IPI values for Publishers as well as persons so I pulled the relevant constraints and added the class Publisher to the instance value constraint. Mariefrance (talk) 18:20, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
