Description
English: Märta Tynell was fascinated by the different moods of the city. In a series of paintings from Paris, she has captured rooftops and empty streets in the misty rain of the early morning or at dusk. She came to Paris in 1882 and stayed for more than 20 years. In the beginning, she studied at several schools of painting. She also travelled around France, painting scenes from places such as the Normandy coast. On returning to Sweden, she applied her experience from France on her paintings of Stockholm.
