Take your vouchers to a branch
Bring your email, SMS or payment card into any Post Office branch with a valid form of identification
The payment exception service is a way for people who are unable to open or manage bank accounts to collect their benefit or pension payments. These payments are issued as vouchers via the i-movo voucher service and can be cashed at any Post Office branch.
How does it work?
Those eligible for this service may be sent a payment card or will receive vouchers either by email (as PDFs) or by SMS text message.
Bring your email, SMS or payment card into any Post Office branch with a valid form of identification
If someone is collecting your voucher on your behalf, be sure it is someone you trust. They’ll need to take your SMS, email or payment card with them, as well as your ID, into any Post Office branch
Go to any counter and present your SMS, email or payment card (and your ID if requested) and you’ll be told the amount available to you. If you want to cash further vouchers, the total amount of the vouchers redeemed will be paid to you. You’ll be given a receipt for each voucher cashed
You have 90 days to cash you vouchers. After this 90-day period, they will expire and be returned to the DWP
Each voucher is for a maximum of £100. If you need to cash more vouchers, multiple vouchers can be cashed during the same visit to a Post Office branch
You can cash your vouchers in any Post Office branch
You are not able to cash your vouchers at ATMs
