Located on the first floor of the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library, the NSU Writing Center provides individualized writing assistance to students across all disciplines. Our professional writing consultants will provide strategies for improving writing and feedback on documents in any discipline: essays, research papers, personal statements, summary reports, resumes, cover letters, emails, scholarship and graduate school applications.

Writing Consultants/Tutors will not simply edit or proofread students’ papers but assist students in learning to explore the writing process, to organize information, to support ideas with sound evidence, to proofread their work, and ultimately, to develop better writing practices.

Editing Policy
Students can send papers without being present with the consultant in the tutoring session, but consultants will only identify patterns of errors and refer students to resources that will help them correct those patterns of errors. If students prefer line-by-line editing with the consultant, then students must be present in the tutoring session.

Either option you choose, you will need to make an appointment and/or register an account in WCONLINE with the Writing Center. You can attach your paper when you make the appointment. Click here for more information.
