World 22 is a cliff rock-themed world resembling Rock-Candy Mines in New Super Mario Bros. U in Dr. Mario World. The first area is available as of 10 PM PT on Nov. 18, 2020[1], while the second area, challenge stages and special stage are available as of 10 PM PT on Dec. 2, 2020[2].

When an area is cleared, red Koopa Troopas, Fuzzies and Stone Spikes appear. The viruses featured in the regular stages are red, blue and green.

Starting with 33 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (25) and collect all virus coins (9).

In this stage, there are Brick Blocks covering all the virus coins. Some of the Brick Blocks are fully frozen, and among those Brick Blocks are frozen viruses, bubbles containing viruses and an exploder. Within the Brick Blocks that are not frozen are viruses, exploders and electric exploders.

Starting with 35 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (17) and collect all keys (7).

In this stage, the keys and doors are in the middle seven columns, where crates and barrels containing viruses are between them. There are more barrels containing viruses between the doors, as well as colorful crates and a shell handy bottles. Additional colorful crates are located in the leftmost and rightmost columns.

Starting with 37 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (21) and collect all purple coins (32).

In this stage, there are four ice fans which are surrounded by uncaged purple coins and viruses in a broad diagonal line. There are also two groups of four caged purple coins outside the line on each side, with each side having a group of four viruses. There are also Brick Blocks between the broad diagonal line and the caged purple coins.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 16 coins surrounding the ice fans.
  2. The four groups of four viruses near the Brick Blocks, for a total of 16 coins.

Starting with 28 capsules, the objective of this stage is to collect all virus coins (9).

In this stage, Brick Blocks are arranged in a checkered pattern with floatie viruses, lock blocks and caged exploders in between, all covering the virus coins. The Brick Blocks contain hidden viruses.

Starting with 39 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (14), collect all coins from Coin Blocks (42), and collect all keys (4).

In this stage, the frozen objects are arranged in a grid with exploders in between and pop cannons within that column, and in the same row as the pop cannons is a shell. Among the frozen objects are crates in the same row as the exploders, floatie viruses between the rows with exploders, Coin Blocks along the border and both keys and doors in the same columns as the exploders.

Starting with 37 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (49) and break all crates (10).

In this stage, the barrels form a checkered pattern for the first eight rows, with crates, Empty Blocks and dust clouds in between. The barrels mostly contain viruses, with a single exploder found in the third one in the seventh row. Of the dust clouds, the first one in the sixth row contains a pop cannon, the first one in the second row contains a shell, the rest in the second row contains exploders while the others contain viruses. On the ninth row are barrels containing Capsule Plus starting from +5 and a virus, two dust viruses and two electric exploders.

Starting with 32 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (48), collect all coins from Coin Blocks (24), and collect all keys (1).

In this stage, the first row contains six pop cannons between two Empty Blocks and a door, three on each side with the door in the middle. Between the door and key are floatie viruses. Below the two leftmost pop cannons and two rightmost pop cannons are Brick Blocks containing hidden viruses and half-frozen viruses, while the two pop cannons between the door have Brick Blocks containing hidden viruses and Coin Blocks below them. The Brick Blocks that contain coins are the first, second, fifth and sixth ones in the fourth column and the third, fourth, seventh and eighth ones in the sixth column.

Starting with 40 capsules, the objective of this stage is to break all colorful crates (27) and collect all virus coins (14).

In this stage, the nine bubble machines are in the first, fourth and seventh rows, three each. Each bubble machine has three half-frozen colorful crates next to them. The virus coins are behind each of the virus found in this stage. There is also an exploder handy bottle in the fourth row.

Starting with 40 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (32) and collect all keys (4).

In this stage, the keys and doors are in the first, third, middle and seventh columns, each pair having seven fully-frozen viruses in between them. On the rightmost column are dust clouds between viruses that contain lock blocks, sharing the color with the virus below them. The cages hold barriers, where there are fully-frozen Brick Blocks in between them.

Starting with 30 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (66), collect all purple coins (50), and collect all keys (4). The only colors available in this stage are red and green.

In this stage, there are only red and green colors. At the beginning of this stage, bubbles containing purple coins are scattered among viruses, with electric exploders located in the eighth row directly above the keys. The next five revealed rows contain rows of viruses where some of the are half-frozen, along with caged coins starting from the second revealed row to the sixth revealed row. Brick Blocks are revealed starting from the third revealed row, where they contain caged coins, plus hidden viruses in the odd-numbered Brick Blocks in the last revealed row with hidden caged coins between them. Half-frozen exploders are located in the seventh revealed row between the Brick Blocks, with the ones in the fourth, sixth and eighth columns containing viruses below them, some half-frozen.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 18 coins in the bubbles found before the stage scrolls.
  2. The 13 coins not inside the Brick Blocks from the second revealed row to the sixth revealed row.
  3. The 19 coins hidden inside Brick Blocks from the third revealed row to the eighth revealed row.

This stage will scroll for one line each time enough objects are cleared or enough capsules are added to the stage and will stop after 8 lines are introduced.

In this stage, there are viruses in a seven-by-seven group, in which a number of them are half-frozen. On the topmost row are exploders and electric exploders in between Empty Blocks, while the leftmost and rightmost columns contain exploders and electric exploders above ice fans.

Starting with 36 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (26), collect all coins from Coin Blocks (12), and collect all keys (9).

In this stage, barrels are arranged within the first eight rows, with Empty Blocks between the barrels with keys inside. The barrels that contain Brick Blocks and the barrels that contain doors are in between the barrels that contain viruses. Of the Brick Blocks, the ones in the second column and the eighth column are Coin Blocks. The ninth row has additional viruses directly below the Empty Blocks.

Starting with 32 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (30) and collect all purple coins (22).

In this stage, the half-frozen purple coins are arranged along the rightmost column and the eighth row. Within the line of purple coins are fully-frozen viruses and three fully-frozen pop cannons in the shape of a cross with space in the middle. Around the group of ice, the top-left space contains a crate and two colorful crates, the top-right space contains an exploder between crates, the bottom-left space contains a shell in a bubble around colorful crates and the bottom-right space contains six bubbles containing caged coins.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 1 coin in the first row.
  2. The 9 coins in the eighth row.
  3. The 6 coins initially in bubbles.
  4. The 6 remaining coins in the rightmost column.

Starting with 36 capsules, the objective of this stage is to collect all virus coins (29) and break all colorful crates (14).

In this stage, groups of bubbles are placed between groups that contain crates, colorful crates or bubble machines. Some of the groups have cages, with the corresponding lock blocks inside bubbles alongside bubbles that contain viruses.

Starting with 39 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (26).

In this stage, there are two rows of crates locked behind green cages, and in between the crates are columns of crates with cages containing floatie viruses in between. Below the lower row of green cages are bubbles containing electric exploders above viruses, while above the higher row of green cages are dust viruses, two lock blocks and crates locked behind red cages.

In this stage, there are four rows in the even-numbered rows that contain barrels containing keys and half-frozen viruses in alternating placement, while above each of the rows are doors directly above the barrels of keys and Brick Blocks containing Capsule Plus starting from +3 above the half-frozen viruses.

Starting with 33 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (26) and collect all purple coins (41).

In this stage, there is a rectangle border of green cages with purple coins locked behind them and another rectangle border outside the green cages containing caged coins and red cages in alternating order. The red cages contain a shell in the top-right corner and viruses in the others. Within the border of green cages are lock blocks surrounded by dust clouds covering floatie viruses. On the ninth row, there is a shell in line with purple coins and electric exploders in alternating order.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The coins in the ninth row and the coins in the green cages, for a total of 26 coins.
  2. The coins near the red cages, for a total of 15 coins.

Starting with 39 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (31).

In this stage, fully-frozen viruses are arranged in a checkered pattern, where between them are flasks are in the rightmost column and barriers in the other columns. On the eighth row is a shell lined up with pop cannons, along with a pop cannon directly above the shell. The filled flasks in this stage will shoot out either barriers or electric exploders.

The last stage of the first area and starting with 35 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (38) and collect all virus coins (35).

At the beginning of this stage, there are Brick Blocks arranged like a triangle in a checkered pattern, and on the left of them are three electric exploders and three floatie viruses. Those Brick Blocks contain hidden viruses with virus coins behind them. In the first and third revealed rows, there are floatie viruses on the odd-numbered positions each with a virus coin behind them, and on the second revealed row is exploders in the even-numbered positions between and below crates. From the fourth to the last revealed row, there are purple coins (caged and uncaged). The fourth revealed row also contains keys, where between them and the doors are viruses. Each of the doors and the purple coins in the last revealed row has a virus coin behind them.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 4 coins in the fourth revealed row.
  2. The 4 coins in the fifth revealed row.
  3. The 4 coins in the sixth revealed row.
  4. The 4 coins in the seventh revealed row.
  5. The 4 coins in the last revealed row (each of them with a virus coin behind them).

This stage will scroll for one line each time enough objects are cleared or enough capsules are added to the stage and will stop after 8 lines are introduced.

When cleared, the rest of the first area in the world map gets cleared of viruses. Players also obtain the Fuzzy assistant upon completing this stage.

Starting with 33 capsules, the objective of this stage is to collect all virus coins (25) and collect all purple coins (28).

In this stage, there are two diagonal lines of bubbles with purple coins inside. Above the higher line of bubbles are checkered with floatie viruses and Brick Blocks both types each with a virus coin behind them, while to the left of the lower line of bubbles are electric exploders. In between the two lines of bubbles are Brick Blocks and shells, where the Brick Blocks above and to the right of the lower line of bubbles and the Brick Blocks below and to the left of the higher line of bubbles contain caged coins, with viruses covering virus coins hidden inside the others.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 13 purple coins encased inside bubbles.
  2. The 15 purple coins hidden inside the Brick Blocks near the bubbles of purple coins.

In this stage, the middle column contains three lock blocks each directly below a bubble with a virus inside in between the key and door. The leftmost and rightmost columns each also contain a key and door with both doors inside cages, and between each pair are a virus, colorful crates and a caged pop cannon. In between the columns with keys and doors, there are caged viruses, colorful crates and two viruses that are not caged.

Starting with 32 capsules, the objective of this stage is to break all colorful crates (61) and collect all virus coins (16).

In this stage, objects are grouped in two-by-two within eight columns with an empty rightmost column, starting with four rows from the beginning all the way up to the next 12 revealed rows. The groups of colorful crates are checkered with groups of three viruses and an exploder. The groups of viruses and an exploder each have a virus coin behind them, and the viruses are in various states, where in every four rows from bottom to the top, they are half-frozen, hidden inside Brick Blocks, inside barrels and inside cages in that order. In the last three rows, there are also lock blocks grouped with colorful crates that unlock the viruses inside cages in the last four revealed rows.

This stage will scroll for one line each time enough objects are cleared or enough capsules are added to the stage and will stop after 12 lines are introduced.

In this stage, Brick Blocks are lined up in the even-numbered rows from the second to the eighth row, all of them containing hidden purple coins. Between the rows of Brick Blocks are clouded floatie viruses in the leftmost and rightmost columns and half-frozen viruses in the four columns closer to the middle column. Below the Brick Blocks in the second and eighth columns are keys and doors. The leftmost and rightmost columns each have a pop cannon in the ninth row. In the middle column, there is a key and door with fully-frozen and clouded caged coins in between, while in the topmost row are frozen viruses, caged coins, shells and a pop cannon.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The coins in all the Brick Blocks, for a total of 30 coins.
  2. The coins in the topmost row and the middle column, for a total of 10 coins.

Starting with 30 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (24) and collect all coins from Coin Blocks (72).

In this stage, cages are lined up in the odd-numbered columns where they contain viruses, pop cannons and Brick Blocks. In between the cages in the seventh row are pop cannons aiming at Brick Blocks, and below those cages are Brick Blocks. The topmost row contains Brick Blocks in between the lock blocks and barrels containing two viruses and a lock block. The Brick Blocks in the topmost row, the eighth row and the ones inside cages are Coin Blocks, the uncaged Brick Blocks in the second row contain hidden exploders while the other uncaged Brick Blocks contain hidden floatie viruses.

Starting with 12 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (40) and collect all purple coins (12).

In this stage, there are four zig-zag lines of half-frozen viruses with lines of barrels in between. The middle line of barrels contains Capsule Plus starting from +6 in between two barrels containing purple coins, while the other barrels contain purple coins.

Starting with 36 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (30) and collect all coins from Coin Blocks (30).

In this stage, the middle three columns contain three shells in between crates and those rows are in between rows of Brick Blocks. The Brick Blocks in the fourth and sixth columns contain hidden viruses, while the shells are aligned with dust viruses. All the caged Brick Blocks are Coin Blocks, and in between them within the columns are bubbles containing two lock blocks and floatie viruses in the others. Additional crates are located in the second and eighth columns.

Starting with 32 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (18) and collect all keys (3).

In this stage, there is a border of cages that contain Brick Blocks and crates. Within this border of crates are clouded floatie viruses, two clouded lock blocks and colorful crates. In the middle column between the key and door, there in a pop cannon in line with the lock blocks. On the leftmost and rightmost columns are electric exploders and colorful crates between the keys and doors. More clouded floatie viruses are found in the second row.

Starting with 29 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (45) and collect all keys (14).

In this stage, the keys and doors are arranged in diagonal lines where each pair has a virus in between. The ninth row contains viruses and electric exploders while the other tiles above that row are Brick Blocks. Those Brick Blocks contain five hidden electric exploders and hidden viruses in the others.

Starting with 40 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (38), collect all virus coins (12), and collect all keys (9).

In this stage, groups with exploders surrounded by Brick Blocks and groups of viruses are arranged in a checkered pattern, where each group has a virus coin between them. The groups with Brick Blocks have hidden viruses or hidden purple coins (caged and uncaged) within the Brick Blocks, and in the group in the last three rows, three keys and three doors along with purple coins. For the other groups of viruses, the one at the beginning of the stage consists of dust viruses, the two groups revealed in the first three rows each consists of barrels with doors inside and two half-frozen viruses with an exploder in the middle, and the two groups revealed in the last three rows each consists of fully-frozen viruses with an exploder in the middle.

A large flask can be seen in the fourth revealed row and will be fully revealed by the sixth revealed row. The filled flask in this stage will shoot out Brick Blocks, but it won't fill until it is fully revealed.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 6 coins hidden in Brick Blocks in the fourth and sixth rows before the stage scrolls.
  2. The 12 coins hidden in Brick Blocks in the first and third rows before the stage scrolls.
  3. The 6 coins hidden in Brick Blocks in the first and third revealed rows.
  4. The 12 coins hidden in Brick Blocks in the fourth and sixth revealed rows.
  5. The 2 coins hidden in Brick Blocks in the eighth revealed row.

This stage will scroll for one line each time enough objects are cleared or enough capsules are added to the stage and will stop after 9 lines are introduced.

The capsule amount is increased from 30 to 40 since June 2021. Besides that, this stage is otherwise the same.

Starting with 27 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (33) and collect all keys (6).

In this stage, exploders are located in the fourth, sixth and eighth rows in the second, middle and eighth columns, all surrounded by Brick Blocks containing hidden viruses and crates. The Brick Blocks in the first two rows surrounding a barrel containing a shell also have hidden viruses. The shell is aligned with two exploders each in between barrels containing pop cannons, which all aim at barrels with keys inside.

Starting with 36 capsules, the objective of this stage is to collect all virus coins (7) and collect all purple coins (18).

In this stage, there are barrels containing purple coins (caged and uncaged) in the shape of three diamonds connected to each other, each diamond containing four viruses and one floatie virus of a single color. There are also two triangles consisting of Brick Blocks and dust viruses in a checkered pattern. The exploder handy bottle is at the bottom-right at the ninth row while a flask is at the top-left corner. The filled flask in this stage will shoot out dust viruses.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 8 coins inside the barrels surrounding the green viruses.
  2. The 5 remaining coins inside the barrels surrounding the blue viruses.
  3. The 5 remaining coins inside the barrels surrounding the red viruses.

Starting with 31 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (36) and break all barriers (25).

In this stage, barrels form a diamond in a checkered pattern in the middle, with half-frozen viruses and two shells in between the gaps. The barrels all contain barriers, where the ones in the perimeters are off and the others are on. Pop cannons are located below eight of the barrels. The corners around the diamond have caged viruses, with their lock blocks in the top-left and top-right corners.

Starting with 35 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (40) and collect all coins from Coin Blocks (30). The only colors available in this stage are red and green.

In this stage, there are only red and green objects. The red viruses form a heart, where the outside ones are inside barrels while the inside ones are frozen. There are several crates below some of the barrels. Clouded green viruses are in the three topmost rows in a checkered pattern, with Brick Blocks (all containing coins) in the first and third rows and red colorful crates in the second row. This stage also has an exploder handy bottle and a flask. The filled flask in this stage will shoot out colorful crates.

Starting with 28 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (30), collect all purple coins (27), and collect all keys (7).

In this stage, there is an angled line of caged coins and frozen doors that divide the viruses and barrels into two groups. Within the caged coins, there are fully-frozen viruses checkered with barrels containing viruses, and to the left of the frozen doors are fully-frozen viruses checkered with barrels containing purple coins. The topmost row contains a shell and pop cannons that are encased in ice and barrels, and that shell is targeted by the pop cannon in the tenth row.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 12 coins inside barrels.
  2. The 15 coins forming a triangle with one side missing.

Starting with 35 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (45) and collect all coins from Coin Blocks (24).

In this stage, the viruses are arranged into the odd-numbered columns between dust clouds containing floatie viruses, and the even-numbered rows between the rows with dust viruses contain Brick Blocks where both viruses and Brick Blocks are fully-frozen. The first two Brick Blocks in the fourth and eighth rows and the last two Brick Blocks in the second and sixth rows are Coin Blocks.

Starting with 34 capsules, the objective of this stage is to collect all virus coins (11) and collect all keys (6).

In this stage, colorful crates are within the second, fifth and eighth rows, where they are each in between two pairs of keys and doors and eight half-frozen viruses. In the topmost row, there are two flasks and a shell handy bottle. The filled flasks in this stage will shoot out bubbles containing viruses.

Starting with 31 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (26) and collect all purple coins (26).

In this stage, the objects are patterned after a four-leaf clover. Purple coins (caged and uncaged) are found in all the parts, as well as exploders, electric exploders and fully-frozen viruses. The lock blocks are located in the top-right, the middle and the bottom-left of the middle.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 6 coins locked behind the blue cages around the bottom-left.
  2. The 8 coins locked behind the green cages around the middle.
  3. The 6 coins locked behind the red cages around the top-right.
  4. The 6 coins not locked behind colored cages around the top-left and around the bottom-right.

Starting with 35 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (32) and break all crates (20).

In this stage, electric exploders are located in the middle of the stage surrounded by ice fans and crates. Outside the corners of the ice fans are fully-frozen exploders surrounded by crates and barrels containing viruses (horizontally) and exploders (vertically). In between the groups of barrels and crates are viruses.

In the final stage of this world and starting with 45 capsules, the objective is to eliminate all viruses (51), collect all purple coins (38), and collect all keys (8).

In the beginning of this stage, there is a line of purple coins arranged in a cascade fashion, where they are in between rows of Brick Blocks containing hidden viruses. Above the rows of Brick Blocks are exploders in the even-numbered columns. As the stage scrolls further, there are two more lines of purple coins arranged in a cascade fashion, this time below fully-frozen viruses. Above the second-revealed set of fully-frozen viruses are keys in the eight rightmost columns. Above the keys are groups of two-by-two containing two viruses in a row, along with an exploder and a virus both half-frozen in a row. In the last-revealed row, there is a half-frozen shell aligned with barrels, which contain doors in the first four barrels, followed by two coins and two viruses.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 9 coins starting from the right of the fourth row (before the stage scrolls) to the left of the first revealed row.
  2. The coins starting from the right of the first row (before the stage scrolls) to the left of the fourth revealed row, along with the two rightmost coins in the second revealed row, for a total of 11 coins.
  3. The 7 coins starting from the rightmost coin of the third revealed row to the left of the sixth revealed row.
  4. The 9 coins within the seventh revealed row to the last revealed row, including the two in the last revealed row that are inside barrels.

This stage will scroll for one line each time enough objects are cleared or enough capsules are added to the stage and will stop after 10 lines are introduced.

Once it is cleared, the remaining area of the stage map gets cleared of viruses, and players can access World 23. Upon completion, players earn a free Staff Ticket.

The capsule amount is increased from 35 to 45 since June 2021. Besides that, this stage is otherwise the same.

Within a 45 second time limit, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (56). The only colors available in this stage are light-blue and pink.

In this stage, barrels form lines that separate groups of fully-frozen viruses checkered with Brick Blocks containing hidden viruses. The barrels contain light-blue shells and pink pop cannons.

Completing this stage awards the player 500 coins.

Within a 43 second time limit, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (28) and collect all purple coins (28). The only colors available in this stage are light-blue and pink.

In this stage, barrels form lines that separate groups of fully-frozen viruses checkered with purple coins (caged and uncaged). The barrels contain light-blue shells and pink pop cannons.

Purple coins are unlocked in the following sequence:

  1. The 6 coins between the light-blue viruses from the sixth row to the eighth row.
  2. The 6 coins below the pink viruses from the first column to the third column.
  3. The 10 coins that surrounded the light-blue viruses in the first three rows.
  4. The 6 coins below the pink viruses from the seventh column to the last column.

Completing this stage awards the player 500 coins.

Within a 55 second time limit, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (44) and collect all keys (6). The only colors available in this stage are light-blue and pink.

In this stage, the shells, pop cannons and lock blocks form lines that separate groups of viruses. In between the shells and pop cannons, as well as the lock blocks and caged floatie viruses checkered with barrels. The barrels in the first three rows contain doors while the barrels in the sixth to eighth rows contain keys. On the left of the pink shells and pop cannons and the right of the light-blue pop cannons and shells are Brick Blocks containing hidden viruses and more caged floatie viruses.

Completing this stage awards the player 1000 coins and a Staff Ticket.

Starting with 29 capsules, the objective of this stage is to eliminate all viruses (39), collect all coins from Coin Blocks (30), and collect all keys (6).

In this stage, within the first two rows before the stage scrolls and the first revealed row, there are dust viruses, bubbles containing viruses, Coin Blocks and cages that hold keys and crates. The corresponding lock block is in the second revealed row inside a bubble. The second to fourth revealed rows contain Coin Blocks, pink viruses, pop cannons and half-frozen pink viruses. The left and right portions of the fourth revealed row contain exploders, which are grouped alongside viruses in that row the next four revealed rows with crates alongside them. The doors for the keys are revealed in the last three rows.

This stage will scroll for one line each time enough objects are cleared or enough capsules are added to the stage and will stop after 8 lines are introduced.

Completing this stage awards the player 1000 coins and Dr. Goomba Tower.
