Talk:List of Super Smash Bros. series items
[edit]
Is it confusing to not at least give items like the Hammer or Fire Flower a quick mention in an otherwise comprehensive list? You can just use {{main|example#Super Smash Bros. series}} to direct more details. LinkTheLefty (talk) 08:22, October 2, 2022 (EDT)
- I think it makes sense to include them, and we already include Mario enemies in the Smash enemies list. Mario JC 03:19, October 17, 2022 (EDT)
Party Ball/extra images[edit]
Two things, I looked over the proposal but I still don't understand why Party Ball (item) was excluded. What relation does it have with Mario outside of Smash?
Also, was there a reason each section doesn't use more than one image? I guess I understand reducing the content but the extra images are just sitting in limbo at the moment, and we should decide that they either be deleted or added to the list. Mario JC 03:19, October 17, 2022 (EDT)
- It was excluded mainly because of its high chance to drop Bob-ombs. I didn't want to include it. Spectrogram (talk) 01:18, October 18, 2022 (EDT)
- I don't think that necessarily makes it an item so closely tied to Mario that it should remain separate. It's specifically classified as a Smash-universe item, and it can contain other items too like the rest of the containers in the series. It would be like keeping Sudden Death (which I think should go as well if we're cutting down Smash content, or at least trimmed because of Strikers) because Bob-ombs are dropped onto the stage. Mario JC 05:55, October 18, 2022 (EDT)
- I don't want to make any more Smash proposals, so someone else should do it. I still believe Party Ball is a gray area item though Spectrogram (talk) 06:08, October 18, 2022 (EDT)
- Why not merge the Smash Party Ball (and the Super Princess Peach "Coin Bag") with the Yoshi's Crafted World Party Ball, thereby keeping all our Kusudama/medicine balls in one place? S o m e t h i n g o n e ! 06:47, October 18, 2022 (EDT)

Changing to wikitable format[edit]
Okay, so I'm not sure how many would get involved, so I'll raise a simple talk page discussion. Given that Final Smash and Assist Trophy both use the wikitable format (as well as Poke Ball Pokemon on this very article), would it be sensible to do the same for the items? A copy of my revision can be found here, for reference, though it probably needs more tweaks. Though my revision rewrites every item description to fit in the wikitable, it also adds descriptions for Super Mario items that the page did not have previously.
Perhaps a similar wikitable implementation can be carried over to some of the other SSB list pages. Super Mario RPG (talk) 17:55, September 13, 2024 (EDT)
- I wish there were a better way to implement the "other languages" sections, but overall, it looks a lot better. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:58, September 13, 2024 (EDT)

- That could work. I'd have probably gone with a collapsing window, myself, but I'll see if anyone else has any opinions on the matter. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:16, September 13, 2024 (EDT)
