Spooky Woods is the first level of Ghost Island in DK: Jungle Climber.
Layout[edit]
The level begins with Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong looking at the level's fog. Cranky gives them a map of the area, which the player can view on the lower screen. The first section is mostly filled with Peg Boards, along with a few Bananas to guide Donkey Kong through the area.
The second section is more expansive area, with more fog and additional Peg Boards, as well as a few false platforms. The game's only two Klobbers also appear in this section.
The fog dissipates in the third section, which is a vertical area with moving Peg Boards and a few Flipflaps before the pathway leading to the next section.
At the beginning of the fourth section, Cranky briefs Donkey Kong on how to get past the ghosts in the area. The rest of the section is a vertical climb littered with ghosts that Donkey Kong must avoid. There is also a hidden area where Donkey Kong encounters a Blast Barrel allowing him to collect enough gems to receive a Crystal Star.
The fifth section is an expansive vertical area with additional Peg Boards and Flipflaps.
The sixth section is yet another vertical area with more ghosts and Peg Boards, along with a few unstable pegs. The area ends with a Jack Peg on a track that Donkey Kong must move to access a platform and, in turn, access a Blast Barrel to exit the area.
The seventh and final section is a simple area with a few platforms and Rocks leading to the exit.
