The Scurvy Crew are a trio of crab pirates who are the second boss of Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are fought at the end of the Beach world during the boss level, Pinchin' Pirates, where they are hypnotized by the Maraca Gang. The Scurvy Crew's leader is the red crab, Cap'n Greenbeard.

The three crabs of the Scurvy Crew have a sharp object that replaces their left claws. The yellow crab has a fork. The blue crab has a sword. Cap'n Greenbeard is a red crab with a blue pirate hat, an eyepatch, and a green beard, has a hook. In their concept artwork, the Scurvy Crew are wearing pants, but this does not occur in-game.

Prior to the boss battle, the Scurvy Crew have a major role during the level Peaceful Pier, where they ride a pirate ship after Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. The blue crab does not appear in the level. Throughout the level, the Scurvy Crew fire bombs at the Kongs to try and knock them off the Rocket Barrel. Late in the level, the Scurvy Crew throw a large anchor at the Kongs, but it misses because the anchor catches on a rock, pulling back the Scurvy Crew and crashing their ship.

For the first phase, the crew attacks individually. Their only attack is moving from side to side. Occasionally, they will put their claws in the air to prevent being jumped on. As a group, the crabs will form a tower and move from side to side as well. The crew member will put his claws up occasionally to prevent Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong from stomping on them. During their third and fourth phase, their attacks are the same, but they put their claws up more often and they move faster. To defeat the Scurvy Crew, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong must jump on each crab four times. When the Scurvy Crew are fighting individually, they must be jumped on first. This will make them vulnerable to a Ground Pound or a roll, which will flip them over. They should be jumped on again for them to take damage. Using a roll instead of a Ground Pound can sometimes cause the Scurvy Crew to flip over, while doing so when an individual crab is under the hanging crates and barrels at the center of the arena will send him into them, causing a heart or a banana to drop. When fighting as a group, Donkey Kong must roll into the bottom crab while their claws are up. This will knock them over and make them vulnerable to a jump.

Lots of vitamin C won't do you much good against the Scurvy Crew. These are some crabby pirates! Even before the Tiki Tak Tribe hypnotized them, these sailors were scary. Just look at that hook! Or that sword! Or that...fork? OK, back to the sword! (American English)
Pirates...who are also crabs... Let's just sidestep that whole issue. These guys have been hypnotised by the Tiki Tak Tribe and are filled with rage! Having said that, considering they have a sword, a fork and a hook instead of left pincers, maybe they were pretty crabby to begin with. (British English)
