Prize

It’s not only about honor: A total of €50,000, sponsored by the NRW.BANK, will go to the Top Three finalists. First place wins €25,000, second place is rewarded with €15,000 and third place gets €10,000.

In addition to the sponsored prize money as the main prize of the OUT OF THE BOX.NRW Awards, the winners also benefit from further advantages through our media partner.

1. EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS

All incoming applications are assessed on the basis of the predefined participation criteria

2. PRE-SELECTION ROUND

Leading investors from NRW select the top 24 startups based on recognized evaluation methods.

3. COMMUNITY VOTE

An equally weighted online vote by investors, startup experts from NRW and the public determines the top 10 startups

4. FINAL DECISION

The top 10 nominated startups compete against each other in a pitch competition at the Hinterland of Things conference

5. AWARD CEREMONY

Together with the conference attendees, a jury of subject experts selects the top 3 startups to receive the prize money of 50,000 euros in total
